This wedding was a coming together of two culturally different people with Oriane being French and Akash being a Mangalorean!! But it was very clear from the start that the essence of the wedding had to be Indian. Infact the wedding lunch menu was created with Akash recollecting most of his childhood favourite dishes. Oriane’s love for everything mangalorean and their traditions was apparent when she insisted that her entry was to be to the sounds of traditional Naadaswaram.
Akash and Oriane being based out of the UK needed to plan and manage their wedding in its entirety in Bangalore. Their need for someone at ground zero led them to call us. We managed every single aspect of their wedding from pre-wedding shoot, theme conceptualisation, vendor partner management right through to implementation of the events. The result was a beautiful, fun filled 3 day wedding!!!Mehendi and Sangeet was at the Royal Orchid lawns, where we re-created an Indian Bazaar environment with a contemporary twist. It was a super charged fun evening with the clouds threatening to burst with rain but creating a perfect setting by hiding the sun to create a beautiful orange sky.
The wedding was a traditional Mangalorean ceremony at the Tamarind Tree. The serene, vintage environment of the place was enhanced with traditional flower decor, the sound of the naadaswaram and a sumptuous banana leaf meal. The beautiful trees that adorn the venue had strings of suganadaraja flowers with marigold and rudrakash edges and brass deepams hung with floral kuchus.Taj Westend lawns where decked up with hues of Red and a beautiful play of lights for the reception along with a hint of french elements to the decor. Oriane looked gorgeous in her blue lehanga and Akash very dapper in the blue Sherwani he wore complimenting his bride. A grand couple entry followed by informal greetings of the guests and dancing was a grand finale to the 3 day celebrations.
This was the first wedding we planned completely remote, meeting Akash and Oriane just 2 weeks before the wedding. There was such perfect understanding and harmony between the two of them that creating a wedding which had India at its heart was truly a joyous journey for us.
